Can You Feel It Building?

Well? Can you? I just saw High School Musical 3: Senior Year. Not to be too embarrassingly tacky but OMG. Hahaha. It was wonderful. Throughout the whole movie I was thinking...I'm not alone with these end-of-high school decisions; I have Troy, Gabriella, Chad, Taylor, et cetera, et cetera. With it fresh on my mind, I've come home and listened to Breaking Free multiple times. I do love the first one's music. And at one point in my life I may or may not have known the We're All In This Together dance. Oh, J. Low....

Speaking of J. Low, I miss it immensely. It was there that today's picture was taken. Me as Chad Danforth for PC Night: High School Musical :) That's right...I got my head in the game!

Today was the last day of school for the week! Hooray! I rearranged my room because it finally got to the point that I couldn't sleep, with thoughts of "It's been like this too long," running through my mind. I am pleased with the new arrangement; it should keep me entertained for a while. In mentioning entertainment, I think of the endless possibilities which my dreams present to me. Au revoir, mes amis!

A Dog's Day All Day.

Greetings. What about dogs? In my opinion, they should not be the subjects of endless personifications and feature films, save for The Lady and the Tramp. What brings this to mind? Beverly Hills Chihuahua. It is currently the 3rd worst film I have ever paid to see. (1st: Cloverfield, 2nd: Elf) Ridiculous.

Also, today's general malaise was....canine. That is to say, that in this instance, canine is synonymous with lazy, humdrum, apathetic, et cetera. I did little but recover from my life. My drug of choice? Sleep. We hosted a band competition yesterday. I am sure it went fairly well with little to no hiccups, but I am not A. Cavin; I do not know everything.

I am not particularly looking forward to tomorrow. I think of it as not much of anything other than another 24 hour period during which I will only grow more indecisive, closer to deadlines and proof that I have no clue what I'm supposed to be doing. :) But I'm sure it will be an adventure. That is worth living for.

I've restarted New Moon in hopes of catching up in the Twilight series, but, honestly, I am a bit "behind the times" in any case of a popular series. For example, I am only 3 and 1/2 books into Harry Potter and they are like on the 8th movie or some such nonsense. Also, that Series of Unfortunate Events. I have been sitting somewhere in the 5th book since 7th grade. But I have read The Giver books, so that counts for something in Heaven.

In other news, the picture is a sign on a door at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute. Incredibly intelligent people worked behind this door. They had a friendly dog. Avocado likes science.

Well, I'll leave you to it. A bientot.

Change We Can Believe In.

Certainly it wouldn't be surprising that if eligible to vote, I would be casting in favour of Mr.
Obama. I have a shirt, various stickers and a hope for America. Haha. I also have this video
to show you. It is absolutely, down right hilarious! Just a quick note today, something to
entertain. Farewell!

There's A Wrinkle in the Water.

Good day to you and yours. Today was an average day, more or less accomplishing little to nothing. It is that time of year that the most chronic humdrum is everybody's disease. This diagnosis leaves me little expendable energy for college applications and relationships and personal endeavors, so the drawing board of my life is a bit....blank. There are indeed a few eraser smudges here and there and that dreadful spindly product that is wont to be near mistakes. I'm in the middle of something that is always very hard for me: transferring my iPod to a new computer. Hopefully this will be the last in a while because I now have my own computer to do what I will. Naturally, I have an AP Biology test tomorrow, but my evening was spent working on chord progressions and laughing with my sister. My alternative is better, it isn't likely studying would make a huge impact in any case.

I've checked out the companion novel to A Separate Peace and also the film adaptation, so I am set for the weekend :) I'm helping my sister to broaden the scope of her recorder-talents, as it is more or less analogous to saxophone habits. It is an interesting area to charter.

Today's picture shows Bellingham bay. I enjoy the black and white contrast with the sailboats. That was a splendid day. The days here are becoming dimmer and rainier, with the negligent onset of a late winter responsible. Oh, and in other news, Happy Mole Day!

O New England.

Hello, friends. Well, today was quite an enjoyable day, or at least the latter half. I don't much remember 1st block; I spend my time reading and writing most illegibly. 2nd block was some fun with the arrival and processing of several new books. I'm so glad I'm a Library Assistant :) 3rd block was AP Biology, so that goes without saying that it was entertaining in itself. Our usual band "standards" were met this afternoon. It continues to befuddle me that we can practice and practice the show but no one gets any better. It's as if our progression is stagnant--like an ill-fated pond in the heat of summer when everyone wants to go fishing but no one can manage the disappointment and stench which is only exemplified by the raging warmth. That is our band. Today was Wednesday, also known as "All West" days, implying that I may look forward to "practicing" with Bacon. What a real treat! It truly is the highlight of my Wednesdays and Thursdays.

I've just finished A Separate Peace and still have the intimacies and stigmas of the novel fresh on my mind. It is such a heavy piece, accounting for approximately 1/3 of today's title's appropriate relatedness.

In other news, providing another fraction of the title's functionality: I've just received my 180 gram vinyl of Always the Bridesmaid Installment 1: Valerie Plame and O New England. How I do love The Decemberists. Thus, armed with my coloured record and a rather dashing Ellis-designed shirt, I will introduce to you my last dedication to New England with an explanation of today's picture.

Taken in Boston, it's a capture of a rather intriguing cemetery a few blocks' distance from the Old North Church, where Paul Revere acted in ways that would warrant future poems and adorations. I have an eery fondness of cemeteries, and I feel like this picture does a nice job representing possibilities with the bricked path, but also the ubiquitous groundings of hardships, et cetera with the hazy presence of the graves on either side. Also, Boston is named as a setting in the aforementioned novel, so it was a clear choice, if only in my legally blind eyes. :)

Nothing is Worth More Than This Day.

Hello! Oh, how true that statement is. With this in thought, I take time to ponder over what this day has been to me. In truth, nothing particularly interesting or definitive happened, so in truth perhaps this day is the best example of my life. I did take that AP Bio quiz and feel I fared quite well. Today we had a mock election at school; with my homeroom acting as the ever-so influential state of North Carolina. It was a bit of a flaky election, for my homeroom is heavy laden with staunch conservatives whose only support for their ideals is "'cause my daddy said." With this general mentality in mind, many McCain fans were flabbergasted that Obama supporters dared to live in Tennessee, not to mention publicly announce it. I was a bit confused with the whole process about twenty minutes into the thing; we had a tie for quite some time but suddenly it was settled and the final tally was McCain-11, Obama-7. (Not sure how that worked out) Alas, there is hope, however, because Obama did win the schoolwide election.

It's that time of year so without doubt I am reading A Separate Peace and loving every word of it. It's such a grand novel...so deep and complex, yet an example of everyday life in so many instances. I often use the title to describe days, in that I have the same feeling when looking upon a day as I do when reading Knowles.

Also in tow is All West audition rehearsing, with scales and embouchures and dynamics and blah blah blah. How I do love audition music, though. In my mind every saxophonist falls under the same, per say, "ideals of habits" as I do, par example: a perhaps false sense of grandeur and sophistication, joking narcissism...a humble genius mentality, if you will. Not to say that I am particularly pretentious, but, you know. It is difficult to phrase my idiosyncrasies, so I leave them at this.

In addition to time spent on the saxophone, I am (slightly) progressing my (very limited) guitar repertoire. I can more or less play the introduction to a few of my most enjoyed songs: The Tain, We Both Go Down Together, Leslie Anne Levine, The Engine Driver, Song For Myla Goldberg, Yankee Bayonet, Of Angels and Angles, Everyday is Like Sunday and Devil's Elbow. If you'll be so quick to notice, all of these songs involve Colin Meloy, as they should. So, with a note of his genius and my lack of skill, I leave you to a marvelous time. Good day.

Too Saxy.

This is a Yamaha "YAS-875EX" Alto Saxophone, a primary item on my wishlist. Look how it glows :) My morning was spent rehearsing with jazz band, my afternoon with marching band and my evening with orchestra. This horn could greatly improve the quality of these activities and countless others. I am ready to own this sax. I currently play on a Vito affectionately named Johnny I got in 6th grade. He has been good to me. I've just finished making some Mole Day posters for the science club. Mole Day is this Thursday and to be quite honest, I'm at a loss of information about moles, other than it's a measurement. I finally finished the film Deliverance, a bit eery to be sure. However, it shan't keep me from enjoying rivers and canoeing and whatnot, as I did this weekend. I should really be off to study for my AP Biology quiz concerning Meiosis I and II versus Mitosis. A real treat if you ask me. Cheers!

To Ponder Such Things As the World.

This photograph was taken in Chicago outside the Shedd Aquarium. It's one of my favourites because to me it gives off such a philosophical impression, hence the title. I'm not sure of the story behind this statue or of its subject, but I do know that it calms me and provokes my wandering mind. I like the blue haze behind the man, perhaps representing how the mind can work. The sky sort of melds into the lake, and I like that presentation of connectivity that is so ideal in any true thoughts.
