I'm Having Too Much Fun...

On Flickr. God, I love it. You should really check out my Photostream to get a tasty little look :) I just bought a pro account on there, and I love all the statistical goodness! Above is something I took today, and edited just a little. It makes me think of childhood's innocent fun and the silly games we've all played. I'm learning a lot about photography since I got my new camera. Speaking of presents leads me to holidays, thus I hope everyone enjoyed their "Season of Choice" as I would like to say. My sister and I have been rockin' it on RockBand, another of our gifts. I also got Wii Music, and I can't wait to play it. Hooray for musical ability, even if it is oversimplified in a video game.

One thing that I was not thrilled about was this week's PostSecret. Oh, sure it was all sweet...go ahead Frank, you deserve a break. Sorry, but, damn it! I wanted secrets!

Thank God school is out. This has been a much needed break, and with this refreshment I'll be ready to return in 2009. I can't believe it's almost time for graduation, for college, for life! Ahhh.

Ok, seriously, go look at my photos...and everyone else's on that fantastic site.

Have fun!

Garden of the Gods.

Hello! For the first excursion of our holiday freedom, my family and I ventured to a far off land commonly known as Illinois to meander our way through trails and rocks and such. Garden of the Gods was really neat, despite it just being a valley-like area with large rocks. We climbed "Camel Rock" (below):

I was able to get some pretty good shots of the area, though I was held to the explorative time restraints of younger siblings. Here are some of my favourites:

It was truly a beautiful day, and an excellent trip for the family. We rather recently moved to town from a cozy log cabin with the luxury of a few acres we could explore everyday and we've really missed the trees and the fresh air and the space. I mostly miss that awesome feeling you get when you see something as simple and elegant as nature; I'm always taken aback when I think of what complexities our world is full of, and how they are each different and interconnected. I love it.

Letters.

Hey friends! Can you believe it's almost 2009! Wow. Today's title: Letters. Why? At first, it was just an obvious choice because of my really cool sheets (pictured above) courtesy of Goodwill. Also seen: my guitar, dear Annabelle (though I am thinking of a proper name to replace), proof of my knitting attempts (and failures), and our dear, curious kitty, aptly named...Kitty. As far as knitting goes, I am really interested and am easily thrilled at the thought of being able to make a nifty little scarf, not to mention a hip sweater-vest or something clever like that. I particularly like knit hats, so perhaps I'll learn a pattern. One day.

In addition to letters on my sheets, I've also received some very welcome letters in the past few days. I have officially been accepted to Earlham (hooray!) and have been chosen to receive the Presidential Honors Scholarship...so far. In the 3rd letter many other things were mentioned, and hopefully the costs will continue to dwindle. I am super excited, and indubitably nervous beyond belief.

I am also excited about venturing northward because it gives reason to buy some kickass outdoor gear, i.e. a suitable camping jacket, a new bicycle, a nice backpack, some "rugged" shoes and in my hopes a Subaru Forester (or some variation of such a "wagon/hatchback"). But that is a far hope ;)

Snow Day!

Well, to be more precise, we experienced a nice coat of ice. Nonetheless, the crystallization served as a viable excuse to cancel school :) Tomorrow's day is scheduled to begin 2 hours later, but that may change... It'll be nice, though, just long enough to pop in there, have a cute little pizza party in the library/media centre and skedaddle right on out of there. Three cheers for pepperoni! Oh, yeah, hooray for MEAT! hahaha. As pictured above, Birkenstocks serve well all year long. Really, the ice on the porch is a nice touch to bare feet. A bit chilly, but enjoyable. Today I made a secret to send in to PostSecret...perhaps it'll be posted! Now that would be nifty... I also attempted various artistic projects, i.e. a nice sketch of a tree's buds, a terribly carved hunk of wood and some strategic poster hanging.

I'm at a difficult time...what do I get people for the holidays? I don't particularly celebrate Jesus' birthday, but it is nice to give...

Moral Orel is on now. Oh, how I love this show. Actually, it's just one of those things you have to watch; you can't peel your eyes from the irreverent humour of evil. Not the "Reason for the Season." LMAO. Ha, cleverly placed lame text lingo ;)

Well, I bid you ado, with a good day, too.

Awesome Video.

Hey, friends! Check out this neato video I found via something else cool, Stumble. Courtney showed the Stumble add-on to me on Firefox, it's pretty cool and you can see lots of intriguing/educational websites.

Happy Birthday, Britney!

Guess what? It's Britney, bitch! My best wishes to her...and my love :) I'm so happy that she is getting back on track and recovering from what I'll refer to here as "The Rough Patch." Britney: For the Record was a good move, albeit a self-promoting MTV promo add. Whatever. Now, of course I was with Britney through it all, or rather, she's been with me, but the point is we go waay back. Ha. YES! I ran through Wal Mart to get Circus and YES! I love it! So, here, right now for your viewing pleasure, one of my all-time favourite videos and songs from her. It is so badass. If you watch it in the right light you will get chills. Enjoy. BTW, she totally owns with that chair.
